Do I need to be a RIPE member directly?
No. We sponsor you as a RIPE End User, meaning all allocations are registered in your organisation's name but the administrative relationship with RIPE NCC runs through us. You still retain full control over your resources.
Can I transfer resources out later?
Yes. You own the resources, so you can transfer them to another sponsoring LIR or to your own LIR at any time, subject to RIPE policy. There are no lock-in clauses.
How long does the process take?
Typically 3–10 business days from paperwork to live allocations, depending on RIPE queue times and whether you already have justifying documentation ready.
Do I need to host with Netiface to use this?
No — LIR sponsorship is entirely independent of our hosting. You can announce your prefixes anywhere in the world. Bundled pricing is available if you do host with us.
What about abuse handling?
You'll set up an abuse-c contact of your own. We're happy to advise on best practice and help triage if you'd prefer us to be the first line of contact.
